The Knitster - 25 Patterns for Hip Knitters

Author(s): Robbie Dulaney

Craft

The Knitster is an original, highly illustrated project-based knitting book (with a little crocheting thrown in for good measure). The 25 projects range in skill level - from the basics to more advanced techniques - and are designed to appeal to women and men! Clothing projects include a hooded infinity scarf, a slouchy hipster hat (knit in a bare yarn then dyed ombre), a freestyle bow tie, a colour-blocked drop-sleeve sweater, and mismatched mittens connected with an i-cord (a grown up twist on a kid's look!). Projects for the house include a zigzag throw, a patterned floor cushion and a cute ice-cream pint cozy (to keep your hands warm and the ice cream cold!).

Product Information

."..unique and very creative...I definitely recommend "The Knitster."" "Sweetly Made blogspot""It's books like this that are going to inspire the next generation to pick up their needles and learn how to read directions and knit. Not only are the projects "hip," but they are fairly straightforward and easy. This book has a sense of humor..." " InStitches.blogs.mycentraljersey.com""I love the plastic coil binding of the book. I know that sounds silly but "The Knitster" lays flat and it is easy to keep opened...that was important especially when following a knitting pattern. The photos were wild and fun. It definitely got my attention as I flipped through...the projects were unique and cool.....I definitely recommend "The Knitster." Emileeschristmasjoy.blogspot.com""If you're knitting for hipster man, this might be the book for you. Although many of the patterns are unisex...Now that the weather's really cooling down, I'm looking forward to curling up in my living room with my knitting needles and a hot drink...." Robert Dulaney is the founder of Knitxcore.com. He has been a knitter and blogger for over seven years but his interest in crafting goes far beyond that. Having roots in a very creative family has fuelled a lifelong passion for making things, whether it's knitting tiny stitches or hand sewing stuffed animals. His work bridges the past and the present by combining simple modern design and a quirky color palette with a unique vintage flair. In two fields largely dominated by women, his perspective provides a refreshing and much needed voice within both the knitting and blogging communities. He's hoping to inspire a new age of empowered male crafters to stand up and to be proud of their work; be it a tea cozy or a log cabin.
