The Aboriginal legend of the Red Kangaroo, Cumbo Gunerah (1680-1745), who as a result of his bravery becomes leader of the Gunnedah tribe. The story originated from Stan Ewing's diary who spoke to King Bungaree (1780-1830), the last Aboriginal chief of the Gunnedah tribe in New South Wales.
